What Is A Question Tag? นักเรียนจะเห็นได้ว่าประโยคที่กล่าวมานี้ จะมีประโยค คำถามสั้นๆ ในส่วนท้ายของประโยคซึ่งเรียกว่า tag Tag, Question Tag หรือ Tag Question คือประโยคคำถามสั้นๆ ซึ่งเติมลงท้ายประโยค มักใช้ในภาษาพูดมากกว่าภาษาเขียน เพื่อเป็น การระบุถึงความสุภาพ การกล่าวย้ำ หรือการพูดเหน็บแนม โดยทั่วไปแล้ว ผู้พูดใช้เพื่อตรวจสอบข้อเท็จจริงหรือเพื่อ การสนทนา และต้องการให้ผู้ฟังแสดงความเห็นด้วยหรือเห็นสอดคล้องกับผู้พูด Exit

What Is A Question Tag? Question Tag มักจะใช้ในรูปประโยคบอกเล่าประโยคปฏิเสธ ประโยคคำสั่ง ประโยคเชิญชวน และส่วนท้ายของประโยคเหล่านี้จะเป็นคำถามชนิดที่ต้องการคำตอบแบบ Yes, No Question Exit

ลักษณะของประโยค Question Tag อยู่ท้ายประโยคหลัก (main clause) และมีเครื่องหมาย  comma (,) คั่นระหว่างประโยคหลัก กับ question tag เช่น You have a dog, เป็นประโยคหลักหรือ main clause ส่วน don’t you? เป็นส่วน tag You have a dog, don’t you? Exit

ลักษณะของประโยค Question Tag That dog is yours, isn’t it? จากตัวอย่างจะพบว่า ในส่วน tag จะใช้กริยาช่วย isn’t เพราะ ในประโยคหลักมีกริยาช่วย is และใช้สรรพนาม it แทนคำนาม That dog ในประโยคหลัก Exit

ลักษณะของประโยค Question Tag She came from France yesterday, didn't she? หมายความว่าเธอมาจากประเทศฝรั่งเศสเมื่อวานนี้ใช่ไหม จะเห็นว่า ประโยคหลักเป็นประโยคบอกเล่า มี came เป็นกริยาแท้ ในส่วน tag จะใช้กริยาช่วยทำเป็นปฏิเสธรูปย่อคือ didn’t Exit

ลักษณะของประโยค Question Tag He doesn't want to disturb her, does he? หมายความว่า เขาไม่ต้องการที่จะรบกวนเธอใช่ไหม Exit
