Past Simple Tense 1. ใช้กับเหตุการณ์ที่เกิดขึ้น และจบไปแล้วในอดีต Jusmine went to Italy last week. We went to the Mall yesterday. 2. ใช้กับกริยาที่กระทำเป็นประจำ หรือ เป็นนิสัยในอดีต I like milk when I was young. He was always absent last year S + V.2

1) กริยาลงท้ายด้วย e อยู่แล้วให้เติม “d” เช่น close-closed love-loved live-lived 2) กริยาที่ลงท้ายด้วย y ให้เปลี่ยน y เป็น i ก่อน แล้วเติม “ed” เช่น cry-cried try-tried hurry-hurried แต่ถ้าหน้า y เป็นสระ (a, e, i, o, u) ให้เติม “ed” ได้ทันที เช่น play-played 3) ถ้ากริยาเป็นคำพยางค์เดียว มีสระตัวเดียว และมีตัวสะกดเดียว ให้เพิ่ม ตัวสะกดอีก 1 ตัว แล้วจึงเติม “ed” เช่น stop-stopped beg-begged plan-planned
