Wh-Questions การใช้ Wh-questions ถาม  เพื่อต้องการทราบข้อมูลที่แตกต่างกัน      Wh-questions มี 9 ตัวคือ  what   where   when  why   who   whose   whom   which  และ  how โดยมีวิธีใช้ดังนี้         What ใช้ถามเกี่ยวกับสิ่งของ  ถามชื่อ  ถามอาชีพ ฯลฯ Where ใช้ถามเกี่ยวกับสถานที่ When ใช้ถามเกี่ยวกับเวลา   Why ใช้ถามเพื่อต้องการทราบเหตุผล Who ใช้ถามเพื่อเพื่อต้องการทราบเกี่ยวกับบุคคล  Whose ใช้ถามหาเจ้าของ  Whom ใช้ถามเพื่อเพื่อต้องการทราบเกี่ยวกับบุคคล แต่บุคคลนั้นต้องทำหน้าที่เป็นกรรม Which  ใช้ถามเพื่อให้เลือกเอาอย่างใดอย่างหนึ่ง  How ใช้ถามเกี่ยวกับ ลักษณะ  ถามอายุ  ถามอาการ  ถามสุขภาพ ฯลฯ                

1.Who ใช้ขึ้นต้นประโยคคำถาม เพื่อต้องการทราบว่าใคร หรือคนใด ทำหน้าที่เป็นประธาน และเป็นกรรม 2. Whom มีความหมายว่า ใคร ใช้ถามถึงบุคคลและใช้เป็นกรรม (object) หรือผู้ถูกกระทำของประโยค 3. Whose มีความหมายว่า "ของใคร" ใช้เพื่อถามหาเจ้าของ 4. What มีความหมายว่า "อะไร" ใช้ถามอาชีพ ชื่อบุคคล สัญชาติ สิ่งของ เวลา สิ่งที่ชอบ ที่อยู่ เบอร์โทรศัพท์ วัน วันที่ เดือน 5. Where มีความหมายว่า ที่ไหน ใช้ถามเมื่อต้องการทราบเกี่ยวกับสถานที่ ดังนั้น เวลา นักเรียนตอบ คำตอบต้องเป็นชื่อสถานที่ต่าง ๆ เช่น ชื่อถนน ชื่อเมือง ชื่อประเทศ ฯลฯ และที่สำคัญจะต้องมี คำบุพบท หรือเรียกว่า Prepositions ในภาษาอังกฤษ 6. When มีความหมายว่า " เมื่อไร " ใช้ถามเมื่อต้องการทราบเกี่ยวกับ เวลา แต่ไม่ได้เจาะจง เวลา เหมือนกับการใช้ประโยคคำถาม “What time" ดังนั้น เวลานักเรียนตอบ คำตอบอาจจะเป็น วันที่ วัน เดือน ปี หรืออาจเป็นเวลาจากนาฬิกาก็ได้ 7. Why มีความหมายว่า " ทำไม " หรือ " เพราะอะไร " ใช้ขึ้นต้นประโยคคำถามเพื่อต้องการ ทราบเหตุผล คำตอบรับเรา จะใช้ Because ซึ่งมีความหมายว่า "เพราะว่า" หรือ "เนื่องจาก"
