The procedure for obtaining a divorce The divorce will proceed under the special procedure. If the judge is not satisfied he or she can ask for further evidence and if necessary there can be a hearing relating to the child.

Drafting a petition Use an overall structure,whether it be chronogical or putting the worst allegations first and then lesser allegations. Put each allegation in a separate numbered paragraph. Draft each allegation concisely and clearly. If there are many allegations,choose the strongest. Allege facts,not evidence. Try to include specific actions rather than generalisations and emotions. Choose appropriate vocabulary, to put the client’s words into a suitable form for presentation to the court.
