Tone down

= to make a speech less offensive = ลดเสียงลง For example : He was very angry but had to tone his language down because there were children in the room เขาโกรธมาก แต่จำเป็นต้องลดเสียงลง พูด ด้วยน้ำเสียงที่นุ่มนวล เพราะมีเด็กอยู่ในห้อง

Turn down

= to reduce the amount of sound or heat = ลดอุณหภูมิลง For example : When the liquid boils turn the heat down and simmer it for 10 minutes เมื่อของเหลวเดือด จะต้องลดอุณหภูมิลง และเคี่ยวไว้นาน 10 นาที

Calm down

= stop feeling upset, angry or excited = ใจเย็นหน่อย For example : Calm down ! You‘ re getting too excited ! ใจเย็นหน่อย คุณตื่นเต้นเกินไปแล้ว

Bring down

= to reduce the amount,rate,or level if something = ลดลง For example : The government is trying to bring down the rate of inflation รัฐบาลพยายามที่จะลดอัตราเงินเฟ้อ

Narrow down

= to mark something (e.g.list,choice,option ) smaller and clearer by removing the things that are less important = ทำให้น้อยลง For example : There are quite a few options available to allow you to narrow down your search for specific cases มีทางเลือกสำรองไว้อีกเล็กน้อยที่จะให้ คุณได้ค้นหา

Keep down

= if you keep the noise of something (e.g.music,voice) down, you stop it from becoming for loud = ลดเสียงลงเดี๋ยวเขาจะได้ยิน For example : Please keep your voice down or they will hear you กรุณาลดเสียงลงหน่อย

Slow down

= to move slower = ขับช้าลง For example : If you don’t slow down,you will have an accident ถ้าคุณไม่ลดความเร็ว จะเกิดอุบัติเหตุ

Knock down

= reduce the price of something = ลดราคา For example : She got the owner to knock down the Price เธอกระตุ้นให้เจ้าของลดราคา

Played down

Play down = to try to make people believe that something is not very important or that It is not likely to happen = ทำให้เชื่อว่าเป็นที่ไม่สำคัญ ไม่น่าจะ เกิดขึ้น For example : He played down the fact that he had failed his exam เขายอมรับความจริงที่เขาสอบไม่ผ่าน

Die down

= if something, especially noise or excitement, dies down it gradually becomes less loud or strong until it stops = อ่อนกำลังลง For example : The wind blew strongly for several hours but then it started to die down ลมพายุรุนแรงมากเมื่อชั่วโมงก่อนแต่ตอนนี้ มันอ่อนกำลังลง
