September CE Mark  เป็นสิ่งชี้บ่งการเป็นไปตาม Directive (denotes conformity with relevant directives)  ไม่ใช่เครื่องหมายแสดงคุณภาพ (Not a quality mark)  โดยทั่วไปต้องแสดงบนผลิตภัณฑ์ หรือบาง กรณีแสดงบนบรรจุภัณฑ์ (affixed to product or in some cases packaging)  เมื่อแสดงแล้วสามารถเข้าถึงตลาดยุโรปได้ (Allow free access to markets)

September CE Mark  วิธีการตรวจสอบรับรองขึ้นกับชนิดของ ผลิตภัณฑ์ และ risk ที่เกิดจากผลิตภัณฑ์นั้น  การตรวจสอบรับรองแยกเป็น Module เริ่ม จาก SDoC จนถึง 3rd party organization  โดยทั่วไป 3 rd party เรียกว่า Notified Body ( แต่งตั้งโดย member state)  อาจมี Recognized 3rd party organization หรือ User inspectorates เพิ่มเติมได้ ( แต่งตั้งโดย member state)
