EtherChannel/Link Aggregation การนำเอา Interface Ethernet ตั้งแต่ 2 links มารวมกันเพื่อให้ได้ bandwidth ของ network ที่สูงขึ้น ถูกมองเป็น 1 logical link เรียกว่า port channel หรือ channel group รวมได้ 2 - 8 pyhsical links ได้ความเร็ว 1600Mbps (FastEther) หรือ 16Gbps(GigabitEther) Load balancing not frame by frame – usually by source and dest MAC address pairs Allows for creation of very high-bandwidth logical links Load balances among physical links involved Provides automatic failover Simplifies subsequent logical configuration Configuration is per logical link instead of per physical link Although any number up to 8 may be used, 2, 4, and 8 are most effective (because of the way load balancing works) With LACP, more than 8 links can be placed in the bundle with extra links beyond 8 are "hot standby"

โหมด EtherChannel Interface ON – Forces EtherChannel ON without PAgP or LACP negotiation PAgP Auto interface อยู่ในสถานะ passive responds ต่อ PAgP packets ที่ได้รับ แต่ไม่เริ่มต้น PAgP negotiation Desirable (PAgP mode) interface อยู่ในสถานะ active เริ่มต้น PAgP negotiation LACP Passive responds ต่อ LACP packets ที่ได้รับ แต่ไม่เริ่มต้น LACP negotiation Active เริ่มต้น LACP negotiation Recommendation is to use: (priority) LACP active PAGP desirable ON Using the protocol instead of forcing ON is recommended as it implements additional Etherchannel functionality

The Rules ทุกๆ links ใน channel-group ต้องเหมือนกันดังนี้ Speed and duplex Switch port mode (trunk or access) If access, ต้องอยู่ใน vlan เดียวกัน If trunk, ต้องอนุญาต ให้ vlans หมายเลขเดียวกันวิ่งผ่านได้ หมายเลข channel group อยู่ระหว่าง 1-64
