1Therefore, while the promise of entering his rest still stands, let us fear lest any of you should seem to have failed to reach it.

1เหตุฉะนั้นเมื่อพระสัญญายังมีอยู่ว่า จะให้เราเข้าสู่การพำนักซึ่งพระองค์ทรงประทาน ก็ให้เราทั้งหลายระมัดระวังอยู่เสมอ มิฉะนั้นอาจจะมีบางคนในพวกท่านไปไม่ถึง

2For good news came to us just as to them, but the message they heard did not benefit them, because they were not united by faith with those who listened.

2เพราะว่าแท้ที่จริง เราได้รับข่าวอันประเสริฐเช่นเดียวกับเขา แต่ว่าเขาไม่ได้รับประโยชน์จากข่าวอันประเสริฐ เพราะเขาไม่เชื่อ

3For we who have believed enter that rest, as he has said, “As I swore in my wrath,‘They shall not enter my rest,’” although his works were finished from the foundation of the world.

John ยอห์น 6: Then they said to him, “What must we do, to be doing the works of God?” 28แล้วเขาทั้งหลายก็ทูลพระองค์ว่า “ข้าพเจ้าทั้งหลายจะต้องทำประการใด จึงจะทำงานของพระเจ้าได้”

29Jesus answered them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent.” 29พระเยซูตรัสตอบเขาว่า “งานของพระเจ้านั้น คือการที่ท่านวางใจในท่านที่พระองค์ทรงใช้มา”

Galatians กาลาเทีย 3:1-3 1O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you? It was before your eyes that Jesus Christ was publicly portrayed as crucified.

1โอ ชาวกาลาเทียคนเขลา ใครสะกดดวงจิตของท่านให้เห็นผิดไปได้ ทั้งๆที่ภาพการถูกตรึงของพระเยซูคริสต์ปรากฏอยู่ต่อหน้าท่านแล้ว

2Let me ask you only this: Did you receive the Spirit by works of the law or by hearing with faith? 2ข้าพเจ้าใคร่รู้ข้อเดียวจากท่านว่า ท่านได้รับพระวิญญาณโดยการประพฤติตามธรรมบัญญัติหรือ หรือได้รับโดยการฟังด้วยความเชื่อ

3Are you so foolish? Having begun by the Spirit, are you now being perfected by the flesh? 3ท่านเขลาถึงเพียงนั้นทีเดียวหรือ เมื่อท่านเริ่มต้นมาด้วยพระวิญญาณแล้ว บัดนี้ท่านจะจบลงด้วยเนื้อหนังหรือ

6Since therefore it remains for some to enter it, and those who formerly received the good news failed to enter because of disobedience, 6ที่จริงยังมีทางเข้าสู่การพำนักนั้น แต่คนเหล่านั้นที่ได้ยินข่าวประเสริฐคราวก่อนไม่ได้เข้า เพราะเขาไม่เชื่อฟัง

7again he appoints a certain day, “Today,” saying through David so long afterward, in the words already quoted, “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts.”

7ดังนั้นพระองค์ได้ทรงกำหนดไว้อีกวันหนึ่งคือ “วันนี้” ตามที่พระองค์ได้ตรัสทางดาวิดในเวลต่อมานาน ในข้อพระคัมภีร์ที่อ้างมาข้างบนแล้วว่า วันนี้ถ้าท่านทั้งหลายจะฟังพระสุรเสียงของพระองค์ อย่าให้จิตใจของท่านดื้อรั้น

8For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken of another day later on. 8เพราะว่าถ้าโยชูวาได้พาเขาเข้าสู่การพำนักนั้นแล้ว พระเจ้าก็คงมิได้ตรัสในภายหลังถึงวันอื่นอีก

9So then, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God, 9ฉะนั้นจึงยังมีการพำนักสะบาโตสำหรับชนชาติของพระเจ้า

10for whoever has entered God's rest has also rested from his works as God did from his. 10เพราะว่าผู้ใดที่ได้เข้าสู่การพำนักของพระเจ้าแล้ว ก็ได้พักงานของตน เหมือนพระเจ้าได้ทรงพักพระราชกิจของพระองค์

11Let us therefore strive to enter that rest, so that no one may fall by the same sort of disobedience. 11เหตุฉะนั้น ขอให้เราทั้งหลายพยายามที่จะได้เข้าสู่การพำนักนั้น เพื่อจะได้ไม่มีผู้หนึ่งผู้ใดหลงไปเหมือนคนที่ไม่เชื่อฟังเหล่านั้น

12For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

12เพราะว่า พระวจนะของพระเจ้านั้นไม่ตายและทรงพลานุภาพอยู่เสมอ คมยิ่งกว่าดาบสองคมใดๆ แทงทะลุกระทั่งจิตและวิญญาณ ตลอดข้อกระดูกและไขในกระดูก และสามารถวินิจฉัยความคิดและความมุ่งหมายในใจด้วย

13And no creature is hidden from his sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give account. 13ไม่มีสิ่งหนึ่งสิ่งใดซ่อนไว้พ้นพระเนตรพระองค์ แต่ตรงข้ามทุกสิ่งปรากฏแจ้งต่อพระองค์ผู้ซึ่งเราต้องสัมพันธ์ด้วย

14Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.

14เหตุฉะนั้น เมื่อเรามีมหาปุโรหิตผู้เป็นใหญ่ที่ผ่านฟ้าสวรรค์เข้าไปถึงพระเจ้าแล้ว คือพระเยซูพระบุตรของพระเจ้า ขอให้เราทั้งหลายมั่นคงในพระศาสนาของเรา

15For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin.

15เพราะว่า เรามิได้มีมหาปุโรหิตที่ไม่สามารถจะเห็นใจในความอ่อนแอของเรา แต่ได้ทรงถูกทดลองใจเหมือนอย่างเราทุกประการ ถึงกระนั้นพระองค์ก็ยังปราศจากบาป

16Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

16ฉะนั้นขอให้เราทั้งหลาย จงมีใจกล้าเข้ามาถึงพระที่นั่งแห่งพระคุณ เพื่อเราจะได้รับพระเมตตา และจะได้รับพระคุณที่จะช่วยเราในขณะที่ต้องการ

30For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light
