September 2009 16 CE Mark เป็นสิ่งชี้บ่งการเป็นไปตาม Directive (denotes conformity with relevant directives) ไม่ใช่เครื่องหมายแสดงคุณภาพ (Not a quality mark) โดยทั่วไปต้องแสดงบนผลิตภัณฑ์ หรือบาง กรณีแสดงบนบรรจุภัณฑ์ (affixed to product or in some cases packaging) เมื่อแสดงแล้วสามารถเข้าถึงตลาดยุโรปได้ (Allow free access to markets)

September 2009 17 CE Mark วิธีการตรวจสอบรับรองขึ้นกับชนิดของ ผลิตภัณฑ์ และ risk ที่เกิดจากผลิตภัณฑ์นั้น การตรวจสอบรับรองแยกเป็น Module เริ่ม จาก SDoC จนถึง 3rd party organization โดยทั่วไป 3 rd party เรียกว่า Notified Body ( แต่งตั้งโดย member state) อาจมี Recognized 3rd party organization หรือ User inspectorates เพิ่มเติมได้ ( แต่งตั้งโดย member state)
