4For a while he refused, but afterward he said to himself, ‘Though I neither fear God nor respect man, 4ฝ่ายผู้พิพากษานั้นไม่ยอมทำจนช้านาน แต่ภายหลังเขานึกในใจว่า 'แม้ว่าเราไม่ยำเกรงพระเจ้า และไม่เห็นแก่มนุษย์

5yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will give her justice, so that she will not beat me down by her continual coming.’”

8I tell you, though he will not get up and give him anything because he is his friend, yet because of his impudence he will rise and give him whatever he needs.

9And I tell you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 9เราบอกท่านทั้งหลายว่า จงขอแล้วจะได้ จงหาแล้วจะพบ จงเคาะแล้วจะเปิดให้แก่ท่าน

10For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. 10เพราะว่าทุกคนที่ขอก็ได้ ทุกคนที่แสวงหาก็พบ และทุกคนที่เคาะก็จะเปิดให้เขา

11What father among you, if his son asks for a fish, will instead of a fish give him a serpent; 11มีผู้ใดในพวกท่านที่เป็นบิดา ถ้าบุตรขอปลาจะเอางูให้เขาแทนหรือ

12or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion
23
13If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”

13เพราะฉะนั้นถ้าท่านทั้งหลายเองผู้เป็นคนบาปยังรู้จักให้ของดีแก่บุตรของตน ยิ่งกว่านั้นสักเท่าใด พระบิดาผู้ทรงสถิตในสวรรค์ จะทรงประทานพระวิญญาณบริสุทธิ์แก่ผู้ที่ขอต่อพระองค์”

II. A Sinful Man Who Went Away Justified 18: He also told this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and treated others with contempt:

10“Two men went up into the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. 10“มีสองคนขึ้นไปอธิษฐานในบริเวณพระวิหาร คนหนึ่งเป็นพวกฟาริสีและคนหนึ่งเป็นพวกเก็บภาษี

11The Pharisee, standing by himself, prayed thus: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other men, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector.

11คนฟาริสีนั้นยืนนึกในใจของตน อธิษฐานว่า 'ข้าแต่พระเจ้า ข้าพระองค์โมทนาขอบพระคุณของพระองค์ ที่ข้าพระองค์ไม่เหมือนคนอื่น ซึ่งเป็นคนโลภ คนอธรรม และคนล่วงประเวณี และไม่เหมือนคนเก็บภาษีคนนี้

12I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I get

13But the tax collector, standing far off, would not even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me, a sinner!’

13ฝ่ายคนเก็บภาษีนั้นยืนอยู่แต่ไกล ไม่แหงนดูฟ้า แต่ตีอกของตนว่า 'ข้าแต่พระเจ้า ขอทรงโปรดพระเมตตาแก่ข้าพระองค์ผู้เป็นคนบาปเถิด'

14I tell you, this man went down to his house justified, rather than the other. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted.”

14เราบอกท่านทั้งหลายว่า คนนี้แหละเมื่อกลับลงไปยังบ้านของตนก็นับว่าชอบธรรม มิใช่อีกคนหนึ่งนั้น เพราะว่าทุกคนที่ยกตัวขึ้นจะต้องถูกเหยียดลง แต่ทุกคนที่ได้ถ่อมตัวลงจะต้องถูกยกขึ้น”

37 And behold, a woman of the city, who was a sinner, when she learned that he was reclining at table in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster flask of ointment, 37 และดูเถิด มีผู้หญิงคนหนึ่งของเมืองนั้นเคยเป็นหญิงชั่ว เมื่อรู้ว่าพระองค์ทรงเอนพระกายเสวยอยู่ในบ้านของคนฟาริสีนั้น นางจึงถือผอบน้ำมันหอม

38 and standing behind Him at His feet, weeping, she began to wet His feet with her tears and wiped them with the hair of her head and kissed his feet and anointed them with the ointment.

39 Now when the Pharisee who had invited Him saw this, he said to himself, “If this man were a prophet, he would have known who and what sort of woman this is who is touching him, for she is a sinner.”

39 ฝ่ายคนฟาริสีที่ได้เชิญพระองค์ เมื่อเห็นแล้วก็นึกในใจว่า “ถ้าท่านนี้เป็นผู้เผยพระวจนะก็คงจะรู้ว่า หญิงผู้นี้ที่ถูกต้องกายของท่านเป็นผู้ใดและเป็นคนอย่างไร เพราะนางเป็นคนชั่ว”

40 And Jesus answering said to him, “Simon, I have something to say to you.” And he answered, “Say it, Teacher.” 40 ฝ่ายพระเยซูตรัสตอบเขาว่า “ซีโมนเอ๋ย ข้าพเจ้ามีอะไรจะพูดกับท่านบ้าง” เขาทูลว่า “ท่านอาจารย์เจ้าข้า เชิญพูดไปเถิด”

41 “A certain moneylender had two debtors
41 “A certain moneylender had two debtors. One owed five hundred denarii, and the other fifty. 41 พระองค์จึงตรัสว่า “เจ้าหนี้คนหนึ่งมีลูกหนี้สองคน คนหนึ่งเป็นหนี้เงินห้าร้อยเหรียญเดนาริอัน อีกคนหนึ่งเป็นหนี้เงินห้าสิบเหรียญ

43 Simon answered, “The one, I suppose, for whom he cancelled the larger debt.” And he said to him, “You have judged rightly.” 43 ซีโมนจึงทูลว่า “ข้าพเจ้าเห็นว่าคนที่นายได้โปรดยกหนี้ให้มาก ก็เป็นคนที่รักนายมาก” พระองค์จึงตรัสกับเขาว่า “ท่านคิดเห็นถูกแล้ว”

44 Then turning toward the woman he said to Simon, “Do you see this woman? I entered your house; you gave me no water for my feet, but she has wet my feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair.

44 พระองค์จึงทรงเหลียวหลังดูผู้หญิงนั้น และตรัสแก่ซีโมนว่า “ท่านเห็นผู้หญิงนี้หรือ ข้าพเจ้าได้เข้ามาในบ้านของท่าน ท่านมิได้ให้น้ำล้างเท้าของข้าพเจ้า แต่นางได้เอาน้ำตาชำระเท้าของข้าพเจ้าและได้เอาผมของตนเช็ด

45 You gave me no kiss, but from the time I came in she has not ceased to kiss my feet. 45 ท่านมิได้จุบข้าพเจ้า แต่ผู้หญิงนี้ตั้งแต่ข้าพเจ้าเข้ามา มิได้หยุดจุบเท้าของข้าพเจ้า

46 You did not anoint my head with oil, but she has anointed my feet with ointment. 46 ท่านมิได้เอาน้ำมันชโลมศีรษะของข้าพเจ้า แต่นางได้เอาน้ำมันหอมชโลมเท้าของข้าพเจ้า

47 Therefore I tell you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven—for she loved much. But he who is forgiven little, loves little.” 47 เหตุฉะนั้นข้าพเจ้าบอกท่านว่า ความผิดบาปของนางซึ่งมีมากได้โปรดยกเสียแล้ว เพราะนางรักมาก แต่ผู้ที่ได้รับการยกโทษน้อย ผู้นั้นก็รักน้อย”

48 And He said to her, “Your sins are forgiven

49 Then those who were at table with Him began to say among themselves, “Who is this, who even forgives sins?” 49 ฝ่ายคนทั้งหลายที่เอนกายอยู่ด้วยพูดกันว่า “คนนี้เป็นใคร แม้ความผิดบาปก็ยกให้ได้”

50 And He said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you; go in peace

III. Permit the little children to come to Christ 18: Now they were bringing even infants to him that he might touch them. And when the disciples saw it, they rebuked them.

15 แล้วเขาอุ้มทารกมาหาพระองค์เพื่อจะให้พระองค์ทรงถูกต้องทารกนั้น แต่เหล่าสาวกเมื่อเห็นเข้าก็ห้ามเขา
III. จงยอมให้เด็กเล็กๆ เข้ามาหาเรา อย่าห้ามเขาเลย

16But Jesus called them to him, saying, “Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God.

16แต่พระเยซูทรงเรียกทารกมา แล้วตรัสว่า “จงยอมให้เด็กเล็กๆเข้ามาหาเรา อย่าห้ามเขาเลย เพราะว่าแผ่นดินของพระเจ้าย่อมเป็นของคนเช่นเด็กเหล่านั้น

17Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.” 17เราบอกความจริงแก่ท่านทั้งหลายว่า ผู้หนึ่งผู้ใดมิได้รับแผ่นดินของพระเจ้าเหมือนเด็กเล็กๆ ผู้นั้นจะเข้าในแผ่นดินนั้นไม่ได้”

48and said to them, “Whoever receives this child in my name receives me, and whoever receives me receives him who sent me. For he who is least among you all is the one who is great.”

48แล้วตรัสกับเขาว่า “ถ้าผู้ใดจะรับเด็กเล็กๆคนนี้ในนามของเรา ผู้นั้นก็ได้รับเรา และผู้ใดได้รับเรา ผู้นั้นก็ได้รับพระองค์ผู้ทรงใช้เรามา เพราะว่าในพวกท่านทั้งหลาย ผู้ใดเป็นผู้น้อยผู้นั้นแหละเป็นผู้ใหญ่”
