Criteria for an expedited review 1. Minimal risk 2. May include identifiers (direct or indirect) 3. Topics that are not sensitive OR may include some mildly sensitive topics, but where confidentiality is secure 4. Populations may include regulated vulnerable populations & others with adequate protection 5. Consider a formal informed consent process OR justify a waiver of consent 6. Requires continuing IRB review, at least annually

Categories of research for expedited review 1. Blood sample collection (routine methods–small amounts) 2. Prospective collection of biological samples-noninvasive means 3. Data collected though noninvasive means (routinely practiced in clinical settings)

Categories of research for expedited review 4. Materials (data, documents, specimens, etc.) have been collected or will be collected for non-research purposes 5. Collection of voice, video or digital data for research purposes 6. Individual or group behavior, surveys, interviews, oral histories

Research involving the collection or study of existing data, documents, medical records, stored, or anonymous left-over specimens, if these sources are available through authorized permission, or if the information is recorded by the investigator in such a manner that research participants cannot be identified directly or through identifiers linked to the research participants 8. Non clinical trial research proposal/protocol of multi-center study approved by the Joint Research Ethics Committees (JREC) of which FTM EC is a member

Criteria for an Exempt review 1. Minimal risk 2. Does not include identifiers, with some exceptions 3. Topic generally not sensitive 4. Non-vulnerable populations 5. Exempt from formal informed consent requirement, but subjects deserve to know about the research 6. Exempt from continuing IRB review

Categories of research for exempt review 1. Typical educational practices 2. Educational tests, and surveys 3. Research with elected public officials, appointed public officials, candidate for public office 4. Existing data, documents, pathological specimens, if publicly available or rendered unidentifiable 5. Evaluation of public benefit service programs 6. Taste and food quality evaluation and consumer acceptance studies

Expedited Review Process ผู้วิจัยส่งแบบเสนอ โครงการวิจัย (FTM EC-019-01) ฝ่ายเลขานุการ ฯ ตรวจสอบเอกสาร ฝ่ายเลขานุการ ฯ ส่งโครงการ ให้ประธาน เพื่อมอบหมายผู้พิจารณาหลัก 2 ท่าน ผลการพิจารณา มีมติอนุมัติทั้ง 2 ท่าน มีมติให้แก้ไข โครงการ ออกเอกสาร รับรอง (CEA) นำแจ้งในที่ประชุมเพื่อทราบ ส่งจดหมายแจ้งผล การพิจารณาให้แก่ ผู้วิจัย ผู้วิจัยแก้ไขโครงการ ตามคำแนะนำ คณะกรรมการ ฯ ฝ่ายเลขานุการ ฯ ส่งโครงการ ให้ ผู้พิจารณาหลัก เอกสารครบถ้วนเอกสารไม่ ครบถ้วน แจ้งกลับ / ส่งเอกสาร คืนผู้วิจัย เลขานุการ ฯ พิจารณาตาม Criteria of Expedited Review ฝ่ายเลขานุการ ฯ ตรวจสอบความถูก ต้อง

Exempt Review Process ผู้วิจัยส่งแบบเสนอ โครงการวิจัย (FTM EC-019-01) และ แบบฟอร์ม ขอยกเว้นการพิจารณา ฝ่ายเลขานุการ ฯ ตรวจสอบเอกสาร ผลการพิจารณา อนุมัติให้ยกเว้นการ พิจารณา ไม่อนุมัติการขอ ยกเว้น การพิจารณา ออกจดหมายรับรอง โครงการ การยกเว้นการ พิจารณา นำแจ้งในที่ประชุม เพื่อทราบ ส่งจดหมายแจ้งผล การพิจารณา ผู้วิจัยส่งแบบเสนอ โครงการตามขั้นตอน การพิจารณาปกติ ประธานพิจารณาหรือ มอบหมาย ผู้พิจารณาหลัก 1 ท่าน เอกสารครบถ้วนเอกสารไม่ ครบถ้วน แจ้งกลับ / ส่งเอกสาร คืนผู้วิจัย เลขานุการ ฯ พิจารณาตาม Criteria of Exempt Review
