Plants possess a green material called chlorophyll,and in this respect they differ form forms of animal life. If we dig up a common garden weed such as shepherd’s purse wa shell be able to study its form and carry out experments in order to find out how the different parts function. Shepherd’s purse, which is an annual weed,may be found in flowers on cultivated ground at all seasons of the year. The plant consists of a stem with leaves,leaf buds,flowers and fruits,together with a root system below soid level.
