สรุป หลักและแผนการในการให้การรักษาทางใจ ของทีมผู้ดูแลรักษา 1. ทีมต้องมั่นใจ รู้บทบาทหน้าที่เพราะเป็น multimodal treatment regimens 2. ข้อมูลที่ให้ต้องเป็นความจริงถูกต้อง มีทักษะในการบอกข่าวร้าย และการ ประคับประคองใจเพื่อช่วยให้มีการปรับตัวได้ดีขึ้น 3. ศึกษาและเข้าใจ coping mechanisms ของผู้ป่วยและญาติ 4. เข้าใจและช่วยผู้ป่วยและครอบคัวในเรื่อง silent grief และ anticipatory grief 5. เตรียมครอบครัวในระยะ preterminal phase และเตรียมให้ผู้ป่วยได้รับ good death 6. ป้องกันการเกิด guilt after death และติดตามดูแลครอบครัวหลังจากผู้ป่วยถึง แก่กรรมไปสักระยะหนึ่ง 7. ควรมีการให้ mental support ในสมาชิกของทีมผู้ดูแลรักษา
