6But now that Timothy has come to us from you, and has brought us the good news of your faith and love and reported that you always remember us kindly and long to see us, as we long to see you—

13so that he may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before our God and Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all his saints.

Chapter 4 1Finally, then, brothers, we ask and urge you in the Lord Jesus, that as you received from us how you ought to live and to please God, just as you are doing, that you do so more and more.

2For you know what instructions we gave you through the Lord Jesus

3For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from sexual immorality; 3นี่แหละเป็นน้ำพระทัยของพระเจ้า ให้ท่านเป็นคนบริสุทธิ์ เว้นเสียจากการล่วงประเวณี

4that each one of you know how to control his own body in holiness and honor, 4ให้ท่านทุกคนรู้จักมีภรรยาในทางบริสุทธิ์ และในทางที่มีเกียรติ

5not in the passion of lust like the Gentiles who do not know God; 5มิใช่ด้วยราคะตัณหาเหมือนอย่างคนต่างชาติที่ไม่รู้จักพระเจ้า

6that no one transgress and wrong his brother in this matter, because the Lord is an avenger in all these things, as we told you beforehand and solemnly warned you.

6และอย่าให้ผู้ใดทำล่วงเกินและทำผิดต่อพี่น้องในเรื่องนี้เลย เพราะว่าองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า เป็นผู้ทรงลงโทษคนที่กระทำผิดอย่างนั้น เหมือนอย่างที่เราได้บอกไว้ก่อนแล้ว

7For God has not called us for impurity, but in holiness

8Therefore whoever disregards this, disregards not man but God, who gives his Holy Spirit to you. 8เหตุฉะนั้นคนที่ปัดกฎนี้ทิ้งมิได้ปัดมนุษย์ทิ้ง แต่ได้ปัดพระเจ้าทิ้ง และพระองค์เป็นผู้ประทานพระวิญญาณบริสุทธิ์ของพระองค์ให้แก่ท่าน

9Now concerning brotherly love you have no need for anyone to write to you, for you yourselves have been taught by God to love one another,

9ส่วนเรื่องการรักพี่น้องทั้งหลายนั้น ไม่จำเป็นที่จะให้ใครเขียนถึงท่านอีก เพราะพระเจ้าทรงสอนท่านเองให้รักกันอยู่แล้ว

10for that indeed is what you are doing to all the brothers throughout Macedonia. But we urge you, brothers, to do this more and more, 10ความจริงท่านได้ประพฤติต่อพวกพี่น้องทั่วแคว้นมาซิโดเนียเช่นนั้นอยู่ แต่พี่น้องทั้งหลาย เราขอวิงวอนท่านให้มีความรักทวีขึ้นอีก

1 John ยอห์น 3: By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.

16ดังนี้แหละเราจึงรู้จักความรัก โดยที่พระองค์ได้ทรงยอมสละพระชนม์ของพระองค์เพื่อเราทั้งหลาย และเราทั้งหลายก็ควรจะสละชีวิตของเราเพื่อพี่น้อง

17But if anyone has the world's goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God's love abide in him? 17แต่ถ้าผู้ใดมีทรัพย์สมบัติในโลกนี้ และเห็นพี่น้องของตนขัดสนแล้วยังใจจืดใจดำไม่สงเคราะห์เขา ความรักของพระเจ้าจะดำรงอยู่ในผู้นั้นอย่างไรได้

18Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth. 18ลูกทั้งหลายเอ๋ย อย่าให้เรารักกันด้วยคำพูดและด้วยปากเท่านั้น แต่จงรักกันด้วยการกระทำและด้วยความจริง

11and to aspire to live quietly, and to mind your own affairs, and to work with your hands, as we instructed you, 11และจงตั้งเป้าว่าจะอยู่อย่างสงบ และทำกิจธุระส่วนของตน และทำการงานด้วยมือของตนเอง เหมือนอย่างที่เรากำชับท่านแล้ว

51Behold! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 51ดูก่อนท่านทั้งหลาย ข้าพเจ้ามีความล้ำลึกที่จะบอกแก่ท่าน คือว่าเราจะไม่ล่วงหลับหมดทุกคน แต่เราจะถูกเปลี่ยนแปลงใหม่หมด

52in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet

14For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep.

15For this we declare to you by a word from the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep.

15ในข้อนี้เราขอบอกให้ท่านทราบ ตามพระวจนะขององค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าว่า เราผู้ยังเป็นอยู่และคอยองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าเสด็จมา จะล่วงหน้าไปก่อนคนเหล่านั้นที่ล่วงหลับไปแล้วก็หาไม่

16For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first.

16ด้วยว่าองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าจะเสด็จมาจากสวรรค์ด้วยพระดำรัสสั่ง ด้วยสำเนียงเรียกของเทพบดีและด้วยเสียงแตรของพระเจ้า และคนทั้งปวงในพระคริสต์ที่ตายแล้วจะเป็นขึ้นมาก่อน

17Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord.

18Therefore encourage one another with these words
