What are they? หน่วยทางธุรกิจในรูปแบบต่างๆ ที่ทำการค้าระหว่างประเทศ
Multinational Corporations Transnational Corporations หน่วยทางธุรกิจในรูปแบบต่างๆ ที่ทำการค้าระหว่างประเทศ มีต้นกำเนิดในประเทศหนึ่ง แต่ไปทำธุรกิจในอีกประเทศหนึ่ง มีการทำธุรกิจในหลายๆ ประเทศ

ลักษณะการทำธุรกิจ Durational Businesses การทำธุรกิจที่มีการดำเนินการยาวนานพอสมควร และมักมีโครงสร้าง รูปแบบถาวรหรือกึ่งถาวร Transactional Businesses การทำธุรกิจที่เป็นการเฉพาะกิจ (per transaction) ที่มีระยะเวลาการดำเนินการสั้น การทำธุรกิจดังกล่าวอาจเป็นความร่วมมือของภาคเอกชนหรือภาครัฐก็ได้ แต่มักมีลักษณะเป็นหน่วยงานธุรกิจ

ความสำคัญ เป็น “ผู้ประกอบการ” ธุรกิจระหว่างประเทศ
เป็นตัวกระตุ้นให้เกิดการเคลื่อนไหวของปัจจัยต่างๆ ทางเศรษฐกิจ เป็นผู้ที่ทำให้เกิดรายได้กว่าหลายพันล้านดอลล่าร์สหรัฐฯ และมีเงินสำรองมากกว่าเงินงบประมาณของประเทศเล็กๆ หลายๆ ประเทศ เป็นผู้สร้างปัญหาหลายๆ ประการแก่ประเทศผู้รับ (Host Countries) เกิดการควบคุมโดยวิธีต่างๆ
