เราลองมาดูตัวอย่างอื่นกันบ้างค่ะ Snow is black, isn't it? No, it isn’t. Snow isn’t black, is it? No, (it isn’t). คำตอบที่แท้จริง คือ หิมะไม่มีสีดำ ดังนั้นคำถามข้างต้นทั้งสองคำถาม จะได้คำตอบอย่างเดียวกัน คือ No, it isn’t. แต่ให้สังเกตเสียงเน้นหนักเมื่อผู้ตอบแสดงความไม่เห็นด้วยกับผู้ถาม Exit

แต่ในบางครั้งผู้ถามคาดหวังคำตอบที่ไม่สอดคล้องกับแนวคิดของผู้พูดและผู้ตอบต้องการถนอมน้ำใจของผู้ถาม ลองมาดูตัวอย่างนี้ค่ะ No, (it doesn’t.) it looks just fine. This dress doesn’t suit me, does it? จากตัวอย่างนี้หมายความว่า ผู้ถามถามว่า ชุดนี้ไม่เหมาะกับฉันใช่ไหม เพื่อนต้องการถนอมน้ำใจเพื่อนจึงตอบว่า ไม่หรอก มันก็ดูดีนะ (ทั้งๆที่ใจจริงก็รู้สึกว่าไม่เหมาะ) Exit

แต่ถ้า B ตอบว่า Yes แสดงว่า B ให้คำตอบ ตามความเป็นจริง ดังนี้ This dress doesn’t suit me, does it? Yes, (it does.) it is too loose for you. หมายความว่า ผู้ถามถามว่า ชุดนี้ไม่เหมาะกับฉันใช่ไหม ผู้ตอบตอบตามความเป็นจริงว่า ใช่แล้วไม่เหมาะกับเธอเพราะมันหลวมเกินไป Exit

17 Conclusion ในการตอบคำถามประโยค Question Tag นั้น ผู้ตอบจะต้องสังเกตและระมัดระวัง โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งในภาษาไทยของเราจะใช้คำตอบที่ตรงข้ามกับคำถาม เมื่อมาตอบคำถามประเภทนี้ อาจทำให้เกิดความเข้าใจที่สับสนได้ ดังนั้น ให้ยึดหลักข้อเท็จจริง แล้วตอบไปตามข้อเท็จจริง Exit
