2 What?  การทบทวบวรรณกรรมคือ การ ค้นคว้า ศึกษา รวบรวม และ ประมวลผลงานทางวิชาการ ที่ เกี่ยวกข้องกับเรื่องที่ทำวิจัย

3 เพื่อให้ทราบถึง  ทราบว่ามีใครเคยทางานวิจัยเกี่ยวกับเรื่องที่เราศึกษาอยู่ บ้าง  เพื่อให้ไม่ทำซ้ำกับผู้อื่น  ทำให้ทราบอุปสรรค ในการทำวิจัยเรื่องนั้นๆ  ใช้เป็นข้อมูลพื้นฐานประกอบการพิจารณา กำหนด ขอบเขต และตัวแปรในการวิจัย  ใช้เป็นข้อมูลในการกาหนดกรอบแนวคิดในการวิจัย  ใช้เป็นข้อมูลกาหนดสมมติฐานและออกแบบวิธีวิจัย  ต้องสามารถเชื่อมโยงงานที่กาลังศึกษากับงานวิจัยที่ เกี่ยวข้องนี้ได้

4 เพื่อให้ทราบถึง  ปัญหาวิจัย การออกแบบวิจัย  ทฤษฎี แนวคิด กรอบแนวคิด สมมติฐาน  ตัวแปร เครื่องมือวิจัย การสร้างและการตรวจสอบ คุณภาพ  ประชากรกลุ่มตัวอย่างและการเลือก / สุ่มตัวอย่าง  การเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูล การวิเคราะห์ข้อมูล  ผลการวิจัย

5 When?  ก่อนการทำวิจัย เพื่อกำหนดประเด็นปัญหา หลังจากได้หัวข้อคร่าวๆ  ระหว่างและหลังการทำวิจัย เพราะงานวิจัยเกิด ใหม่ตลอดเวลา ดังนั้นเราต้องทราบรายละเอียด ของงานที่เกี่ยวข้องด้วย

6 Types of References  Journals  Conference/Workshop Proceedings  Theses  Textbooks  Magazines  Web pages  Newspapers  Manuals, etc.  Oral Communication

7 Journals  Very high quality articles  Can be old  Check to see when first submitted

8 Conference/Workshop Proceedings  Typically Very New Material  Check acceptance ratio  Try to identify good conferences  Make sure they were reviewed

9 Theses  Usually well reviewed  PhD will be higher quality than MS

10 Textbooks  Good source for foundational material  Typically very old material

11 Magazines  May or may not be reviewed  Usually simplified summaries  Check the article ’ s references to find original source  Be aware of advertising in disguise

12 Web Pages  Usually not reviewed  Can disappear or change  Check to see if appears in a conference or journal and use that reference instead

13 Newspapers  Good for examples  Not usually reviewed  Usually simplified summary  Frequently skewed  Check for names of researchers and look them up and try to find their articles.

14 Manuals, etc  Generally not reviewed  May be advertising in disguise  Frequently not good quality

15 Oral Communications  Take written over oral any day  Oral is not reviewed and cannot be rechecked  Use if you contacted the researchers of a particular article that you reference and they give you additional insight.  Use to describe real life situations, but here again, these are not the primary sources.

16 Purpose of Citations การอ้างอิง  การนำทฤษฎี แนวคิด และผลงานวิจัยต่างๆ มาอ้างอิงในขั้นตอนต่างๆ ของการวิจัย เช่น  การร่างที่มาของปัญหางานวิจัย  การกำหนดสมมติฐาน  การกำหนดตัวแปร  การนิยามศัพท์  การกำหนดกลุ่มตัวอย่าง  การใช้เครื่องมือ  การวิเคราะห์ข้อมูล

17  การอ้างอิงทฤษฎีหรือสูตร  ควรอ้างอิงถึงงานแรกที่นำเสนอทฤษฎีหรือสูตรนั้นๆ หากหาไม่ได้ ให้อ้างอิงจากหนังสือที่ น่าเชื่อถือ  ไม่อ้างอิงสูตรที่เป็นที่รู้จัก เช่นสูตรค่าเฉลี่ย หรือ ค่าเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน Purpose of Citations การอ้างอิง

18  การอ้างอิงงานวิจัยที่เกี่ยวข้อง  ควรอ้างอิงงานวิจัยที่เป็นที่รู้จักในด้านนั้นๆ ( ไม่ คำนึงถึงปีที่ตีพิมพ์ )  ควรอ้างอิงงานวิจัยที่ทาในระยะ 5 ปีที่ผ่านมา  ควรอ้างอิงจากแหล่งข้อมูลที่น่าเชื่อถือเท่านั้น !!!  หากเป็นงานจากวิทยานิพนธ์ ให้หางานวิจัยที่ ตีพิมพ์จากวิทยานิพนธ์นั้นๆแทน Purpose of Citations การอ้างอิง

19  แหล่งข้อมูลที่ไม่น่่าเชื่อถือ ได้แก่  Wikipedia  Web blog  บทความออนไลน์ ควรเป็นแหล่ง สุดท้ายที่ใช้ในการอ้างอิงหากหาแหล่ง อื่นๆ ไม่ได้ Purpose of Citations การอ้างอิง

23 ข้อห้ามในการเขียน Literature Review  ไม่ควรใส่ประวัติ ความเป็นมา สำหรับเรื่อง ที่มีมานานแล้ว เช่น  ใครเป็นคนคิดภาษา C  ใครเป็นคนพัฒนาระบบ database  ความรู้พื้นฐาน ไม่ควรเป็นเรื่องพื้นฐาน จนเกินไป เช่น  วิธีการเขียน SNMP  ER diagram คืออะไร Entity คืออะไร  Internet คืออะไร  ห้าม copy catalog หรือ โฆษณาของ เทคโนโลยีสารสนเทศต่างๆ  ไม่ควรใช้ภาษาเขียน
